Hannah Pezzack is a writer, editor, and curator who focuses on storytelling through essays, discursive events, workshops, and radio. Drawing on sonic knowledge, ecology, and the politics of intimacy, she regards language and sound as deeply intertwined sensory and embodied mediums. Fascinated by dreams and folklore, Hannah explores the intersections of nature, culture, and the imagination, seeking to uncover new perspectives and speculative narratives in more-than-human worlds. As the managing editor of Extra Extra, a printed journal and online platform focusing on sensuality and urban life, she edited the words of Lauren Berlant, McKenzie Wark, Legacy Russell, Franco “Bifo” Berardi, and Huw Lemmey, among many others. She is currently an assistant curator at Sonic Acts – an art, theory, and technology biennial – and edits Ecoes1 , a bi-annual magazine about ‘art in the age of pollution’, published by Sonic Acts Press. Her music journalism can be found with magazines such as The Wire, where she is a regular contributor. Hannah also composes liner notes for record labels and is a freelance communications writer for various cultural institutions and festivals, including Dekmantel. An experienced interviewer and moderator, she has spoken with musicians and artists such as Cosey Fanni Tutti, Drew McDowall, Gazelle Twin, Lyra Pramuk, Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu), Ale Hop, and Nene H. In the fields of literature, art, and academia, she has shared conversations with author Elvia Wilk, curator Steffi Hessler, and scholar Astrida Neimanis, among many others. DJing under her own name, Hannah weaves together psychedelic, vocal-led oddities, freak folk, left-field electronics, and dub. Together with Elina Tapio, she hosts Scrying the Landscape2 on Mutant Radio, a mix series exploring sonic fictions and mysticism through experimental music and spoken word. To date, she's appeared on line-ups at Garage Noord (Amsterdam), Sameheads (Berlin), Salon des Amateurs (Düsseldorf), and NTS (London).
