Laura Misch's Lithic

Following a full vinyl playback, the conversation explored the geological, environmental, and emotional landscapes that inform Lithic, a record shaped by encounters with stone, wind, water, and deep time. Drawing on Misch’s practice as a saxophonist, electronic producer, vocalist, and field recordist, the discussion traced the album’s origins in sites including Cornwall, Hydra, and Dungeness, examining how caves, quarries, coastlines, and weather systems became active collaborators in the compositional process.
