A radio show by Hannah Pezzack and Elina Tapio. Occasionally hosted by like-minded guests, it airs on Mutant, a community platform and cultural venue located in a former power station in Tbilisi, Georgia. Each episode of Scrying the Landscape is dedicated to a specific concept or theme, explored through experimental music and spoken word.
'Scrying' is the act of gazing into an object – a pool of dark water, a mirror, or black-painted glass – in order to receive spectral visions or messages. It's a psychic attunement into one’s second sight, revealing knowledge often concealed. Elina Tapio and Hannah Pezzack ascribe this ocular practice to the mystical nature of deep listening. By conversing with ghosts from the past or cybernetic entities arriving from the future, Scrying the Landscape narrates sonic fictions, unveiling hidden truths, auditory fantasies and deceptive hallucinations. Here, traversing terrain that is virtual and physical, the ear is expanded as a speculative endeavour.
